Tea-Japanese green tea or twig tea both harmonize well with the flavour of rice
Stock- Boil a sliced onion, a dash of Soya sauce, a bay leaf, a few cloves of garlic and a dried red pepper. Strain before using with the rice.
For rice puddings or when rice is being used in a curry or other spice dish, then a few cloves, cinnamon sticks or mace, soaked in boiling water for a few hours, will lend a spicy bouquet to rice.
